Learn to Track & Mix Acoustic Drums with any Budget and any Equipment! In this 8 hr In Person Master Class you will learn to track and mix acoustic drums at home regardless of your budget. Here is what the workshop covers: 1. Choosing Drum Kits for Recording. 2. Try out Vintage & Modern Kits. 3. Tuning & Muffling Drums for Recording. 4. Preparing your Recording Environment 5. Try out Several Different Microphones & Mic Positions 6. Learn all about Phase Relationships and Alignment. 7. Try out Cymbals & Learn How To Select Them for your Song. 8. Try out Several Types of Analog Mic Preamps. 9. Learn Mixing Tips & Tricks to get Modern and Vibey Drum Sounds. 10. Learn How to use midi samples and drum triggers to replace drums or blend them with your acoustic drums. 11. Learn how to use bus processing, parallel compression and saturation and how to use reverb to create depth in your drum mix. 12. Learn EQ techniques to dial in the sounds that you want. 13. Try out Many Different Plugins for Drums, Compressors, EQ's, etc. 14. We provide a PDF of notes and highlights of the course so you can remember what you learned. *This workshop is an in-person event that can have anywhere from 1 to 10 people at a time. We do 4 hours, take a 1/2 hour lunch break and then 4 more hours to complete the course.
Cancellation Policy
Terms of Service & Payment Policy: We want to be as fair as possible when charging for studio time, mixing, editing and mastering times. To cancel or reschedule your session, please contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled time to receive a full refund. If you cancel within 24 hours of your session start time we will issue a 50% refund. If you do not show up for your session, we will not issue any refund. Please be mindful of session start and stop times. If your session goes over by more than 5 minutes, we will bill you for an additional hour. We will bill you for each additional hour that the session goes over the scheduled time. We do not bill for setup and tear down times. We will bill for additional time spent editing, mixing and mastering video and audio. We may bill for travel time if we are hired to travel to another location. Studio Rules: Please be courteous and respectful when at Home Recording Academy. Failure to follow our rules and policies may result in termination of your recording session with no refunds offered. We have a no tolerence policy for drug and alcohol use. Absolutely NO smoking in the building. If you need to take a smoke break, put out your cigarette entirely and discard safely. Do NOT leave cigarette butts in our parking lot. Do NOT use vape pens in the building. Do NOT bring any illegal substances into the studio building. Do NOT bring firearms into the building under any circumstance. If you are caught stealing anything from the studio, we will report it to the police immediately. Do not purposefully damage, write on or alter any property or equipment when at the studio. If you damage or alter equipment, or any property belonging to Home Recording Academy, you will be held personally liable. You will be held personally responsible for repair or replacement of any damage caused to our equipment or property of the business. Do NOT set drinks or food anywhere near equipment. You may eat food and bring in drinks as long as you take your trash with you and don't leave a mess for us to clean up. Please don't bring in food that smells strong or that may cause an allergic reaction. Please don't wear strong perfumes or cologne that may bother or distract employees or other session players. Please practice good personal hygiene and don't come into the studio smelling bad.
