Technology has leveled the playing field. You don't need a million-dollar studio to make professional recordings anymore. You need the right knowledge, the right guidance, and someone in your corner who can show you exactly what to do with what you have.
At Home Recording Academy, we teach musicians and artists how to produce world-class music from home — through private, hands-on, in-person lessons tailored to your exact goals, experience level, and budget.
From day one, you'll be pushing buttons, turning knobs, and working with real gear — microphones, preamps, EQs, compressors, and more. You'll learn through doing, not watching. And if you want to work on your own music during lessons, we encourage it. That's when learning sticks.
We also offer workshops in drum recording, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, DMX stage lighting, looping, videography, and content creation — because a modern musician wears a lot of hats, and we can help with all of them.
This is where artists become producers.

Home Recording Academy | Delaware, Ohio
A dedicated creative space built for serious work — without the big-city price tag or the distractions that come with it.
Our 1,900 sq. ft. private building sits in the quiet of Delaware, OH, with 14-foot ceilings, plenty of free parking, and the kind of calm that's hard to find closer to the city. You're just 30 minutes from Downtown Columbus and 30 minutes from the airport — close enough to be convenient, far enough to actually focus.
Inside, you'll find a hybrid analog/digital control room, a live production room, a fully wired 24-channel stage, a dedicated drum recording room, and a photography studio — everything you need under one roof, without ever having to compromise.
Oh, and there's a bathroom. Turns out that matters.
The Center piece of our studio is the Antelope Galaxy 32 Interface with the highest level Mastering Grade Analog to Digital Conversion.
We believe that 90% of your effort when recording should be capturing the source. The other 10% is mixing. That is why we love tracking in Analog as much as possible. We have a lot of unique choices when it comes to Microphone Preamps, EQ's & Compressors in the studio.
Having the ability to mix and master primarily in Analog is incredible. The Hybrid Studio allows for all the depth, color and warmth of analog with all the advantages of modern technology that the digital world gives you.
Our Live Room Features a Stage with 24 Input Channels and tons of lighting choices. We use P16 Monitor Controllers so the band has total control over what they are hearing.
We have a 5' Weber Baby Grand Piano that is the perfect blend of bright and mellow.
We have a Live Performance Rig featuring a Wing Rack & 4 sets of stereo in ear monitors.
We have 3 House Drum Kits to choose from as well as a variety of cymbals and snares.
We have several Guitar and Bass Amplifiers to choose from.
We have a dedicated area just for Drum Recording that has more sound isolation if you're looking for a dryer more focused sound.
We have a wide selection of microphones for every situation like Tube Mics, Large & Small Diaghram Condensers, Ribbon Mics, Broadcast, Dynamic & Mics for Recording Audio for Video. Part of the fun is trying out different microphones, preamps and compressors to see what you like. It helps you to make better buying decisions along your engineering journey.
We use Canon Camera's for all of our classes & workshops. We have several different bodies and lenses to try out. All of our cameras are Mirrorless & use RF lenses. We have tons of lighting and background options and primarily teach Capcut for editing. We believe that Capcut offers the most to beginners that want to make great ads fast.

"I'm a music producer, recording engineer, videographer, and artist — and the founder of Home Recording Academy, where I help artists, songwriters, and content creators take full control of their music."
I graduated from Belmont University in 2006 with a degree in Music, with one goal: build a home studio that could do anything the big rooms could do. Professional quality, no gatekeepers, a simple creative workflow — just the freedom to create whenever inspiration showed up.
Instead, I got married, had kids, and ran a plumbing business for the better part of two decades.
Such is life.
But in 2022, I sold the business, went all in, and finally built the studio I'd been dreaming about since college. And somewhere along the way, I realized the thing I actually love most isn't just making music — it's helping other artists, songwriters, and creators stop waiting for permission and start doing it themselves.
That's why I started Home Recording Academy. Because you don't need a big budget, a fancy room, or years of experience. You just need someone to show you how.
